Afghanistan - Kabul University Herbarium (AFG-KUFS)Herbarium was founded by J.F. Neubauer in the late 1950s. Some specimens in the collection date back to 1941 with bulk of them collected in late 1960s and early 1970s. The herbarium contains close to 65% of all specimens recorded for Afghanistan. Restoration work began in November 2009. Consortium participants and a team of technicians and student interns worked to restore the herbarium, photograph it and electronically record data on its approximately 23,700 plant species.
